To learn the addition of negative number 
CONTENT ANALYSIS 
TERMS: Negative, positive numbers 
FACTS: (i) In a number line the value of numbers increases from left to right. 
(ii) Subtracting large number from a small number. 
CONCEPT: The concept of teaching and learning addition of negative numbers. 
PROCESS: The process of teaching and learning addition of negative numbers.

LEARNING OUTCOMES 
The student will be able to 
(i) recall related knowledge and information about numbers 
(ii) describe peculiarities of numbers 
(iii) applies the above facts, concepts in new and relevant situation. 
(iv) judge the appropriateness of the above concept in given problem 
(v) design a new idea related to addition of negative numbers. 
(vi) develops skill related to addition of negative numbers. 
(vii) creates interest related to addition of negative numbers

string of different colour. Find out the answers 
for questions. Suppose the given figure is a 
number line.

(i) Which position has yellow colour? 
(ii) Which position has green colour? 
(iii) Which position has red colour? 
(iv) Which position has blue colour? 
Students observe. 
Students do the problem

Teacher says that the following figure shows 
a string of different colour. and the numbers 
corresponding to each colour shows its score 
Find out the answers for questions. Suppose 
the given figure is a number line 
i) Which colour has highest score 
ii) Which colour has lowest score 
iii) Among yellow and black which colour has 
highest score 
iv) Among red and blue which color has highest 
score 
Teacher again confirms the concept in a 
number line the value is increasing from left to 
right.

each groups. Then told to subtract certain
