ThepersongivingyouthisletterhasbeenacceptedasaTeamMembertoservewiththeInternational
ChristianEmbassyJerusalem(ICEJ)at theannualFeastofTabernaclesCelebrationhereinJerusalem.We
areaskingyoutokeepthispersoninprayerandtoalsorequestyourassistanceonbehalfoftheirfinancial needsfor
thisshort-termministryendeavor.
TheICEJwasestablishedin1980,whenalltheembassiesofthenationswithdrewfromJerusalemasthe
resultofpoliticalpressuresbeingplacedonIsrael.Atthiscriticaltime,Godmovedontheheartsof
severalChristianmenlivinginJerusalemandinstructedthemtoestablish“HisEmbassyintheHolyCity”
withafocusbeingto“Comfortye,comfortyeMypeople”(Isaiah40:1).
TheICEJsponsorsanannualChristianCelebrationinJerusalemduringtheFeastofTabernacles(Succot),
theJewishFeastordainedinLeviticus23:38-44. ChristianscomeuptoJerusalemfromaroundtheworld
toworshipGod,andatthesametimeseektocomfortthepeopleofthislandthroughtheirpresence,
prayersandsupport.EachyearthisFeasthasgrowninsizeandhasnowbecomeavitalwitnesstothe
LandofIsrael,astheChristiansinattendancecomeunitedinpurposetoshareGod’slove,toblessIsrael
andtoprayfor thepeaceofJerusalem.
Weanticipateworkingwithateamofapproximately250forthisyear’sFeast.Theteammembersare
askedtocommittheirtimeanywherefromtwoweekstoamonth,dependingupontherole inwhichthey
areserving.WhiletheyareinJerusaleminthiscapacity,theyareworkinghard,puttinginverylonghours
andgivingofthemselvessacrificiallytohelpmaketheministryoftheFeastofTabernaclesatremendous
witness.Manyofthemmusttaketimeoffwithoutpayfromtheirplacesofemployment,andallareasked
tocomeattheirownexpense.Theyarefurnishedwithmodestaccommodationandareprovidedtwo mealsaday.
Weareappealingtoyoutoprayerfullyconsiderhelpingtosponsorthispersontohelpcovertheexpenses
ofairfare,accommodationsandtransportation.Each individual will needto earnapproximately US
$2,200.tocoveralloftheseexpenses.Theaverageairfareisapproximately$1,200.to$1,600.,andneeds
tobesecuredasearlyaspossible.Inaddition,eachteammemberisaskedtocontributefromUS$300.to
$600.,dependingonlengthofstay,tohelpdefraythecostofhis/heraccommodations(whichincludes
lodging,mealsandlocaltransportation.).
