NLP stands for neuro-linguistic programming. It was founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder and is used to improve interpersonal relationships and management skills. NLP enhances our ability to manage thinking, conflicts, and experiences. The method of change in NLP involves three stages: modeling successful people, changing one's state of mind, and anchoring positive memories to draw from. Modeling means emulating the actions of successful people. Changing states means shifting from disempowering to empowering mindsets. Anchoring links positive memories to draw strength from in difficult situations.

♦ Modeling according to the NLP belief is the
pathway to excellence
♦ To achieve success, all one has to do is to find a
way to model those who have already succeeded
♦ I.e Find out what actions they took, specifically
how they used their brain and body to produce the
results they desired

has to do is to find models of excellence

♦ Next time when we are making this difficult
call, the right thing is to take a moment to
conjure up a memory of some amazing
personal success

♦ One’s state affects one’s behavior
♦ The state one is in will filter or affect the final
result of our interpretation of any experience we
have at that moment
♦ There are empowering states such as confidence,
love and inner strength and there are paralyzing
states such as confusion, depression, fear
♦ All the above states one would interpret
experiences with an attitude.
- E.g empowering states- ‘I can handle this’
- e.g Paralyzing State- ‘ This is too much for me’
