2. 2. What is it?

Algebra II is the next step up from Algebra I and has the same fundamentals to it.

It builds upon Algebra and introduces new aspects.

 3. 3. Basic Review Example 1) Solve for x. 2x+4=18 Example 2) Find the slope. (Remember y=mx+b) 3y=x+3 Example 3) Solve the expression. |x+5|=15
 4. 4. Basic Review Continued

Everything used in Algebra I and even geometry are fair game in Algebra II.

Graphing, solving for x, polynomials, inequalities, functions, and anything else you care to conjure up.

Think of Algebra I as basic algebra and Algebra II as intermediate algebra.

 5. 5. Answers to Examples

Ex1) 2x+4=18

2x+4=18 (Basic equation)

2x=14 (Subtracted 4 from both sides)

x=7 (Divided 2 from both sides)

 6. 6. Answers to Examples

Ex2) 3y=x+3

3y=x+3 (Basic equation)

y=1/3x+3 (Divided both sides by 3)

Slope = 1/3
