Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad presented on astro medicine from a doctor's perspective. He discussed how astrology aims to predict diseases and their progression based on planetary positions. However, he noted there are many flaws and inconsistencies in how astro medicine assigns diseases and body parts to astrological factors. Many relationships described conflict with each other and there has been little rigorous research conducted. He concluded that while astro medicine aims to offer insights, it remains a largely unvalidated subject from a medical perspective and requires much more systematic study.

What is Astro-Medicine?
1. The Astrology is a skilled knowledge of event
anticipation otherwise said as – Future telling
2. Astro-Medicine is branch of it developing and
adding popularity in society
3. Astro-Medicine “predict” or “guess” the
diseases of forth coming and speak the
prognosis of the established disease based
on the various astrology methods
4. It takes the support of “Astronomy” for
planetary calculations

Medical Practice
• Medicine is a Health Science -
something that treats or prevents or
alleviates the symptoms of disease
• Medicine takes the help of various
sciences – such as Physics,
Chemistry, etc.
• Astrology in Medicine is not a
common phenomenon but the
interpretative human body,
counseling, Herbal Medicine, Dietetic
medicine, etc are incorporated in
Astrology.
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
4. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• Health Sciences are
scientific and not dependent
on Astrology as they are
independent scientific
evidential subjects
– Any event is subjected for
repetition and validation
• Astrology considers &
predicts the events in
Human life based on the
planetary positions – so,
dependent on the other
sciences and incorporates
them
– Many times the rules framed
not coincides with other
What does it means?

5. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• Ayurveda or any other Health science never
depended on the Astrology for its success or
testimony. Consider
• There were no references of Astrological or
related subject in Standard Ayurveda
Classical text books.
• The later Authors inspired and added few
topics of Astro-Medicine in their compilations.
• The Traditional enlisted concepts in Astrology
are subjected for the evaluation and
Research in Medical Astrology.
• As the people have the freedom of
expression, they print “What they feel” and
through on the society – with out any
research or rationality in the subject.
• This attitude is causing problem for genuine
Astro-Medical researchers.
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
6. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• We have lots of questions raised in this
context -
– Who developed the concept of Astro-
Medicine?
– On what basis it works?
– Are there any conducted researches on it?
– Who wrote and/or edited the text?
– What is the authenticity of it?
– Who calculated the statistics in Astro-
Medicine?
– the answers are “Biased”.
Consider…

7. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
Who developed the concept of
Astro-Medicine?
• The concept of body – mind
relation is a part of relation to the
nature
• What ever is out side of the
Body is inside of the body
• Thus the body relation
establishment and the body –
mind problems highlighting is
done by the seers long ago
carefully

Different drekkana as per part of body assigned
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
11. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
On what basis Astro-
Medicine works?
• Astrology calculate the planetary
intercepting positions in the Zodiac planes
at Natal (Birth time) Horoscope, Gochara
(Transition) or Horary (Question), etc. for
the event finding – such as disease
evolution, progress, prognosis, etc.
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
12. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
Flaws in Body & Disease concept
• Form the above 3 charts – we are learned that the natural
zodiac signs are attributed to human organ and the Houses
are also ascribed. Where to apply which rule?
• Apart from – the theory of Drekkana also brought forward
– If the 3rd Drekkana is active to cause disease – as it is first house
reflects the Head disease or Pelvic disease?
• It is said that the 6th Lord and 6th Bhava are responsible for
Disease or ill health. The planets corresponding will
establish pathology.
– According to the above chart – unless the 10th house or 5th & 9th
house 3rd Drekkana is not afflicted – the Knee disease never
appears
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
13. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
Are there any conducted researches on it?
• Enthusiastic individuals are exploring the
riddles of Astro-Medicine
• The problems they face includes –
– Insufficient data (in size, information)
– Motivation (Lack of interest in Sample)
• People usually come for Astroger to know about their
Job, Matrimony, Money, etc. – but never for the Health
issues.

Ayurveda Disease & Astrology
• Disease starts at one place (Udbhava Sthana) of
body and express it self in another area (Vyakta
Sthana).
• Another important area is – the complicated are
(Arista sthana).
• As an example – the Madhumeha (Diabetes)
starts in pancreas and express it self in Blood,
but its complications are observed in Eye
(Retinopathy), Nervous system (Neuropathy),
etc.
• Whether the Astro-medicine speaks these factor
division of a disease rationally?
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
17. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• On one hand scholars
attribute relationships –
which are contradicted by Conflict in
another author
• The real time conclusions
statements
are not arrived by any
means
• A total confused – Conflict
– biased statements every
where in Astro-Medicne
• A methodical research
should make the research
simplified but not a complex
complicated derived
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
18. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• Hope – even Astrologers will have Biased Judgement
Disease and they do require the
help of Medical Astrology
• How many of you can quote an
example or practice for your kith &
kin Medical Astrology
• Are you avoiding the medicine in
Rahukala –Gulika kala -
Durmuhurtha?
• Are you not ready to join hospital
in Moudhya?
• Do you recommend the Doctor to
stop the medication as the
“Person” dies astrologically?
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
19. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
Health -
Horoscope
• The idea of combining Health & Horoscope is nice
• It may benefit the Astrologer but not the Physician in practice
• Ayurveda Daiva-Vyapashraya Chikitsa brought forward as –
Aesthetic Medicine is a old wine in new bottle
• It include – Homa, Bali, Ratna, Mantra, etc. are already prevailed as
alternative healing techniques – they do require validation
• In the Good hands of Astrologer, certainly it offers a counseling to the
patient and may boost the confidence to face the situation
• Including Astrophysics and Chemistry with methodical Research in
Astro-Medicine will certainly offer the value to this Idea
Dr. K. Shiva Rama Prasad, at http://technoayurveda.wordpress.com/
20. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• From the point of
Medical Practitioner –
the Astro-Medicine is Conclusion
still a raw subject needs
the – validation and
establishments.
• A couple of individual
biased examples can
not be considered as
the rules
• Many conditional Result
evolved leads to
confusion

21. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• Known is Scarce and the
ignored are abundant
• Knowledge is becoming
capital for the Earning
• Research of course, is a
part of the Game always
• If this narration offers any
insight – My effort is
exercised
• Thank You – One and All
Conclusion who get Awareness

22. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
A step towards • I am observing the Vaidya
Success: Jyotisham for a period of
25 years
• Many questions raised in
the process of Research
are not supplied with
proper scientific
explanations
• A single case study or
many conditional inclusion
research may give a Ph.D.
but not satisfaction.

23. Astro Medicine – A Doctor’s Perspective
• To offer success to Astro-Medicine –
• Do not only Read Observe
