4. “Introduction”
 Surat Al-Furqan (Arabic: ‫الفرقان‬ ‫سورة‬ ," The
Criterion") is the 25th sura of Qur'an with
77 ayat.
 The “Criterion” refers to the Qur'an itself as
the decisive factor between the Good and
the Evil.
 It is Makkiya Sura.

5. “Subject”
• The Surah deals with the doubts and objections that
were being raised against the Qur'an, the Prophethood
of Muhammad (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)
and his teachings by the disbelievers of Makkah.
• Appropriate answers to each and every objection have
been given in this surah.
• The people have been warned of the consequences of
rejecting the Truth.
• At the end of the Surah, a clear picture of the moral
superiority of the Believers has been depicted.

6. “Some Verses From Surah
Furqan are:

7.  Translation:
“Those who disbelieve say: ‘This (Qur'ān) is but a
fabrication which he (Muhammad) himself has invented,
and some others have helped him with it, so they have
produced a wrong and a falsehood.”

8.  Translation:
“And the servants of the Beneficent God are they who walk
on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address
them, they say: Peace”.

9.  Translation:
“These shall be rewarded with high places because
they were patient..”

Disbeleiver’s Objections”

11. ََ‫ل‬‫ا‬َ‫ق‬َ‫و‬َ‫ك‬ْ‫ف‬ِ‫إ‬ََّ‫ال‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ا‬َ‫ذ‬‫ـ‬َ‫ه‬َ ْ‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬َْ‫ا‬‫و‬ُ‫ر‬َ‫ف‬َ‫ك‬ََ‫ِين‬‫ذ‬َّ‫ل‬‫ا‬ََ‫ق‬َِ‫ه‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫ل‬َ‫ع‬َُ‫ه‬َ‫ن‬‫َا‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬َ‫َو‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬َ‫ر‬َ‫ت‬ْ‫اف‬ََ‫ون‬ُ‫ر‬َ‫اخ‬َ‫ء‬َ‫م‬ْ‫و‬
 Those who disbelieve say: "This is nothing but a
lie that he has invented, and others have
helped him in it.''
Reply:
ًَ‫ا‬‫ور‬ُ‫ز‬َ‫َو‬ً‫ا‬‫م‬ْ‫ل‬ُ‫ظ‬َ‫وا‬ُ‫ء‬‫آ‬َ‫ج‬َْ‫د‬َ‫ق‬َ‫ف‬
 In fact, they have produced an unjust wrong and a
lie.

12. ِ‫ه‬َ‫ف‬ ‫ا‬َ‫ه‬َ‫ب‬َ‫ت‬َ‫ت‬ْ‫ك‬‫ا‬ َ‫ين‬ِ‫ل‬ َّ‫و‬ٌّ‫ال‬‫ا‬ ُ‫ير‬ِ‫ـط‬َ‫س‬َ‫أ‬ ْ‫ا‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫ا‬َ‫ق‬ َ‫و‬ً‫ل‬‫ي‬ ِ‫ص‬َ‫أ‬ َ‫و‬ ً‫ة‬َ‫ر‬ْ‫ك‬ُ‫ب‬ ِ‫ه‬ْ‫ي‬َ‫ل‬َ‫ع‬ ‫ى‬َ‫ل‬ْ‫م‬ُ‫ت‬ َ‫ى‬
 And they say: "Tales of the ancients which he has
written down, and they are dictated to him
morning and afternoon.'
 Reply:

 Say: "It has been sent down by Him Who knows the
secret of the heavens and the earth.

Ruku No 1:
• Al-Furqan : The Criterion for judging right and wrong virtue and
vice, truth and falsehood.
• Rasolallah(SAW) ---- Abd ---- Servant of Allah
• Allah has appointed an exact measure for everything ---- Law of
destiny
• Criterion for Godhood/ Divinity ---- The partners they associate do
not fulfill on any criterion
• Quran itself is a miracle.

Ruku No 2:
• Picture of Hell ---- boxing up in a narrow place
• Comparative review of consequent of Muslim’s who believe in Hereafter
and disbelievers.
• ِ ‫ه‬‫اّٰلل‬ ِ‫ن‬ ۡ‫ُو‬‫د‬ ۡ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬ ---- Not just idols but the angels, the prophets, the saints, the
martyrs and the pious men, whom the mushriks of different communities
have made their deities.
• Messengers, believers & disbelievers all are tests for each other --- Divine
wisdom --- How?
• Tests for believers --- Be patient on persecution, un reasonable
arguments & mockery of disbelievers.

Ruku No 3:
• Three times when angels can be seen ---- Chastisement, death, Here
after
• Ayah 27 ---- Good and bad company and its effects --- How we have as
friends?
• Making Qur'an an object of laughter ---- ‫ا‬ً‫ر‬ ۡ‫و‬ُ‫ج‬ ۡ‫ه‬َ‫م‬ َ‫ن‬ٰ‫ا‬ ۡ‫ر‬ُ‫ق‬ۡ‫ال‬ ---- Forgotten,
forsake, abandon ---- did not regard the Qur'an as worthy of their
consideration, neither accepted it nor followed it.

• The criminals will always oppose the Truth and become enemies
as Messengers invites people towards Allah’s obedience rather
than theirs.
• Tawakul Ilallah.
• Wisdom behind gradual revelation of Quran in 23 years ----
strengthen heart, conviction and imbue it with courage,
memorize perfectly, its teachings may be impressed deeply on
the minds, answer the objections at the moment.

• Looking at historical remains with didactic approach.
• Making Lusts and desires God ----- Of all the false gods being
worshipped and served, instead of Allah, the worst in the sight of
Allah is one's own lust.
• One who are slaves of their desires ---- Their condition is worse than
cattle.
• Momin has his desires under control, he stand firm.

• The pleasant effects of gradual increase and decrease of shadows.
• Allah’s sign in sleep.
• Relationship between causes and effects and their being subject to Allah’s will.
• Recognize Allah with His blessings ---- Attitude of Thankfulness, evade ingratitude

speech & pen through Quran.
• Sweet, bitter, palatable, saltish , warm and cold sea water ---- Ayah 53

respect --- Fulfill the Rights

• Difference between Light of Sun and Moon.
• 13 Characteristics of Ibad ur Rahman --- 5 do’s and 9 don'ts
1. True servants ---- Obedient, full submission
2. Walk on earth humble, forbiddance of arrogant walk( Person’s walk reflect
his thoughts)
3. Avoid ignorant, foolish and twist discussion --- Say Salam and move away
4. Remembrance of Allah at night(Tahajjud) -- Safeguard from Show off and
closeness to Allah

7. Abstinence from Shirk ---- Do not invoke any other God other than
Allah
8. Do not take any life unjustly which Allah has forbidden.
9. Do not commit adultery. ---- Double punishment for Shirk, unjust
killing, adultery. Islam = Faith+ action --- Advantages/conditions of
Repentance(changing evil deeds into good)

10. Do not bear witness to any falsehood ---- No false testimony, never
be a spectator to false
11. If they pass by absurd things(indecency), pass by it with dignity.
12. Take the admonition from recitation of Quran ---- Pay heed, ponder
and act upon it.

Ayah 74 ---- Supplication ---- How can anybody becomes coolness
