Eyes/
Eyeballs
Every time the same person opens the UBER app in
a given timeframe, it counts as one eyeball.
Zeroes • Every time someone opened the Uber app and
didn’t see any cars available. This could occur
due to the lack of supply (drivers), or because
the rider was looking for a ride outside a certain
range of the available cars.
• Zeroes are very important, since they represent
lost revenue for Uber.
Requests/
Demand
The number of person that requested trip.
In conjunction with the Eyeballs metric, it is used to
define the Demand

Completed The number of completed requests.
Available
drivers
The number of available drivers. It can also be referred
to as Supply.
Fares The amount that a rider will be charged for a trip.
Surge
pricing
Pricing in UBER is dynamic. They raise and lower
quickly in response to demand fluctuations. This is
Surge Pricing.
If demand is very high, prices are raised to lead to a
reduced demand and thus keep ETAs low for riders
and drivers.
This is why drivers usually decide to work during peak
hours, knowing they can achieve higher fares.
