Did you know… that when aggravated, an
African bush elephant can run up to the
speed of 40km per hour
Did you know…this unique African elephant
drinks 190 Liters of water per day! That’s 190
of these water bottles.
Did you know…that old elephants usually die
because they have lost their teeth and aren’t
able to chew their food, this causes them to
starve to death.

Did you know?
Did you know…that this African Forest elephant is
found in Central and Western Africa
Did you know…this elephant is smaller than the
African Bush elephant and also has straighter,
slimmer tusks, and smoother skin, allowing it to
move more easily through dense forests.
Did you know…They eat more fruit than the bush
elephants but they also eat branches and leaves
too.

Did you know?
Did you know…the Asian elephants small rounded
ears are how they are recognized in the wild.
Whereas all the African elephants have ears shaped
like Africa.
Did you know…these elephants are a lot smaller
than the African elephants and don’t usually have
tusks
Did you know…even with their huge size, they can
quietly move and walk around without making a
sound.

10. Elephant Population

The data in this table shows us that by the year 2020
all African Elephants will be extinct mainly because
of Ivory poaching (University of Washington 2008, ¶
5). Poaching is when elephants get hunted for their
tusks.
