EYE DONATION ?
FACTS ABOUT EYE DONATION
Only the cornea is used for transplant.
Eyes should be donated within 6-8 hrs. of death.
One cornea is grafted to more than one person.
Total removal time is about 15-20 minutes.
Spectacle wearers, hypertensive and diabetics can
also donate.
Eyes are not bought or sold.
All religions endorse eye donation.
10cc of blood sample is collected from the donor’s
body for testing.
