Takeaways
We ran a user study with 16 currently practicing game
designers from industry, indies, hobbyists, and
academics.We drew the following takeaways.
Designers took Inspiration from the AI
Either intentionally when a designer ran out of ideas and
prompted the AI for inspiration or from the AI behaving in
an unexpected way.
Designers adapted themselves to the AI
Against our expectations, designers showed a willingness
to adapt their design practices to the behavior of the AI,
showing a willingness to work with it.
Designer desires varied wildly for the AI
Some wanted a student, a collaborator, a friend, or even a
manager from the AI partner.
