5. Jeremiah 10:23, 24
V23:O Lord, I know that the way of man is not
in himself: it is not in man that walketh to
direct his steps.
V24:O Lord, correct me, but with judgment:
not in thin anger, lest thou bring me to
nothing.
6. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but
the end thereof are the ways of death.
Ecclesiastes 7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that
God hath made man upright; but they have sought
out many inventions.
7. Health in itself is not regarded as an ultimate value
but used as a means to an end. It is only when health
fails that every conceivable method is employed to
restore it, in spite of the in inconveniences and costs
involved.
How important is your health? Do you value it? Are
you doing all that you can to maintain and preserve
it?
8. Is it……”A complete state of physical, mental, and
social well being and not merely the absence of
disease” as stated by the World Health Organization
(WHO)
Or as the Bible states, “And Jesus increased in
wisdom (mental) and stature (physical) and in favor
with God (Spiritual) and man (social). “ Luke 2:52
A sa tubu cake ko Jisu ena vuku kei na yagona
talega, a sa vinakati koya vakalevu cake tikoga na
Kalou kei ira talega na tamata.
9. The difference between the two is the
former excludes the spiritual while the
latter includes it. Human beings
regardless of their status in life, have a
need for spirituality. We were created
with this because our Creator wants to
be part of our existence.
10. Spiritual
-That which has to do with our relationship with our
Creator, we need to understand that our health is a
special gift given to us by our heavenly Father.
Mental
- That which has to do with our mind, the mind has
tremendous power in itself and harnessing this
power towards the promotion of health is the science
we need to study.
11. Social
-That which has to do with our relationships with
others, remember “no man is an island!” We all
need each other.
Physical
-that which has to do with our body in general, we
need to understand how our body functions so we
can look after it properly.
12. State of Mind
-Mind should be free from guilt, guilt makes us
sick, mind and heart should be happy, sadness
brings sickness, Deut. 28:65, 66; Prov 28:13, Prov
17:22
State of physical body
-Keep body physically fit with exercise, proper
nutrition, and rest. Our body is a living
sacrifice/template for the Holy Spirit, 1 Cor. 3:16, 17;
Rom. 12:1
13. Spiritual life
-a carnal mind is death but a spiritual mind is Life
and Peace. Strife to maintain a connection with the
source of Life, God Himself- Rom 8:6
Social Life
-Love thy neighbor as thyself, act of benevolence is
healthful. Apply the golden rule all the time- Matt
22:37 – 39
14. Health is not just a mere absence of illness
or infirmity. It is a complete and balance
state of the Spiritual, Mental, Physical, and
Social dimensions of our well being.
The four dimensions of health must be in
place in order to have optimum health!
15. Making new decisions, choices, preferences
Changes in lifestyle, behavior, habits
Understand difference between facts and
myths, truth and error
Self-denial, sacrifices
16. Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest
proper and be in health, even as thy soul
prospereth.” 3 John 2
“….I am come that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly” John 10:10
17. There are many ways of practicing the healing art, but
there is only one way that Heaven approves. God’s
remedies are the simple agencies of nature, that will
not tax or debilitate the system through their
powerful properties. Pure air and
water, cleanliness, a proper diet, purity of life, and a
firm trust in God are remedies for the want of which
thousands are dying; yet these remedies are going
out of date because their skilful are requires work
that the people do not appreciate.” -5 Test, page 443
18. The only hope of better things is in the education of
the people in right principles. Let physicians teach
the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but
in nature. Disease is an effort of nature to free the
system from conditions that result from a violation
of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause
should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions
should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then
nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel
impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the
system. {MH 127.1}
19. “Our first duty, one which we
owe to God, to ourselves, and to
our fellow men, is to obey the
laws of God, which include the
laws of Health
