Supporters of Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr wave national

calling for the immediate withdrawal of Turkish troops from
northern Iraq, in Baghdad, Iraq, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016.
Thousands of followers of al-Sadr are demanding the
withdrawal of Turkish troops from a base near the northern
city of Mosul. Turkey says the troops are training Iraqi
fighters to help retake Mosul from the Islamic State group,
and that they are there with the permission of the Iraqi
government. Baghdad denies it granted permission and has
ordered them to withdraw -- a call Ankara has ignored. (AP

Awara was killed the next day

"Ardalan asked me to step aside so he
could position himself to shoot back
from where I stood. Still lots of bullets.
I looked back to see where the tanks
and more armored cars are and the
moment I turned around Ardalan got
hit and fell. The bullet hit through the
top of his head.
Three other soldiers dropped their guns
to come and aid him resulting in less
defense and more intense shooting
from ISIS. We all thought Ardalan was
also dead as he was was bleeding
uncontrollably, but he survived."
