2. 1. INTRODUCTION
Wound dressing is very important in taking care of wound.
Common wound dressing technique:
- Can’t remove all of excess fluid.
- Take more time.
- Paining.
V.A.C Therapy:
- More effect in removing excess fluid.
- Increasing local capillary perfusion.
- Increasing rate of granulation tissue formation.
3. 1993: Fleischmann W. used Negative-pressure wound
therapy for treatment of 15 open musculoskeletal trauma
patients.
2006: 108 Military Central Hospital used V.A.C therapy for
treatment of complicated wound.
2013: Viet-Czech Friendshop hospital in Hai Phong used
Negative-pressure wound therapy in treatment of soft
tissue injury.

5. 2. MATERIALS AND METHODS
2.1. Materials:
Soft tissue injury patients were treated by V.A.C in
Viet-Czech Friendship Hospital from 1/2014 to 12/2018.
2.1.1. Selections:
Acute: Soft tissue Injury after removing necrotic tissues;
open musculoskeletal trauma.
Subacute: Infection wound after removing necrotic tissues.
Chronic: pressure sores, diabetic ulcers.
6. 2.1.2. Exclusion criteria:
+ Patient with bleeding injury, vascular trauma, injury with
blood vessel and nerves weren’t covered.
+ Osteomyelitis untreated.
+ Patient with soft tissue sarcoma.
+ Patient disagree to join the research.

3. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
19. 4. CONCLUSION
This research was conducted on 312 patients presented with
soft tissue injury between January 2014 to December 2018.
There were 192 males (61.54%) and 120 female (38.46)
patients included in the study. The average patient age was
48.5 years (range 13 to 95 years).
The most indication of treatment by V.A.C was pressure
sores patient (202/312).
Length of one cycle of V.A.C is 48 hours. VAC therapy over
the wound was administered for an average of 3,25 cycles
(range 1 to 7 cycles). Average amount of time spent on a
V.A.C wound dressing is 20 minutes.
Before using V.A.C, number of patient with 4 points or more
on VAS is 42. And after using V.A.C, It’s 13.
20. 4. CONCLUSION
VAC therapy using negative pressure that there are many
advantages more than classical wound dressing. It
promote wound healing by increasing local capillary
perfusion and increased rate of granulation tissue
formation, decreases the duration of wound healing and
requires fewer painful dressing change.
V.A.C is a advanture technique and can be popular at
provincial hospitals. With sugery method, It’s can be a
effectively way for soft tissue wound treatment.
