Wonderful advances in the field of medical science make possible to slow down aging process and live a long and healthy life. Here, I share with you, the facts and visions more eloquent than imaginations and amazing thoughts amounting to reality-pregnant-early-morning dreams.
It may seem, but the presentation is not a fiction. Neither it is a bundle of concocted myths. Based on current state of scientific knowledge and gerontological research, it aims to provide answers to aging and longevity.
Therefore, you are requested to read on. After all, the theme, ageing slowly and living longer, is of a prime interest to all of us.

2. The Life Course
All Life-forms in the Universe pass through:
Birth – Growth – Aging – Death
And the Human Life is
No Exception.
3. Human Life
Life course and Life span
Developmental deficits at birth
Health - challenges and events
Longevity – QOL, Will-to-survive
8. Human Lifespan
*जीवेम शरदः शतम्।
(शुक्ल यजुवेद Chapter 36 मंञ 24)
Wishing a life of hundred years
*May you live until 120

10. Achieving Normal Longevity
1. Retarding aging process
- Lifestyle and CR/CRAN
- Anti-oxidants
- Anti-aging formulations
2. Renewal of aging organs
- Allografts, Xenografts
- 3D Bioprinting
11. Life Extension Program (LEP)
- Can be seen as a plausible step in near future.
Step One: Taking advantage of existing knowledge for
slowing aging through interventions like CR, antioxidants
Step Two: Utilizing the advances in genetic engineering
including stem cell and biotechnology
Step Three: Use of future nanotechnology and artificial
intelligence revolution to repair mutations and other
defects due to aging at molecular and cellular
levels
- It is projected to go through three steps -
12. - Cryonics is practice of freezing a body immediately
after clinical death – Cryopreservation.
- It is speculative life support science that seeks to
preserve human life in a state that will be viable and
treatable by future medical advances.
- The concept is based on sophisticated understanding
of death called ‘information-theoretic death’ which
offers bridge to life in future.
The Suspended Life and Revival
14. - The current medical and legal definition of death is
based on the cardiac arrest and the cessation of
electrical activity in the cerebral cortex.
- Whereas a person is dead according to information
theoretic criterion if memories, personality, and psyche
are destroyed, and the brain micro-structures encoding
memory and personality are so disrupted that it is no
longer possible to recover them.
- Thus, information-theoretic death is ‘absolute
irreversible death’ and not the
clinical death.
16. - The cryopreserved bodies are not irreversibly dead
as per the information-theoretic definition of death.
- They are kept indefinitely preserved in Dewar flask
filled with liquid N2 for anticipated damage reversal
in near future.
- The revival will be possible with future science
and technologies allowing cause of fatality to be
cured and repair organ damage due to aging
process.
