Design for ALL 3
4. Presenting Homework, 90 minutes
• Present the results of your interview with the
Empathy Maps
• Try to fit your presentation in 7 minutes
Prototyping 4
5. Forming Design Teams
• Before next part please form your teams by
minimum of 3, maximum of 5 participants in
each
Prototyping 5
7. Team work: Generating Design Idea
• Consist of two tasks:
1. Identify the most interesting cases
2. Generate design ideas
Prototyping 7
8. Identifying the most interesting needs,
20 min + 10 min for reporting
1. List on a sheet of paper all the user needs
you have found in all the interviews of all
team members;
2. Choose three the most interesting
(challenging) needs for your team;
3. Report these needs to others
Prototyping 8
9. Generating ideas, 60 minutes
1. Generate at least 10 possible solutions for
each user need (assume that you could really
design each of these solutions);
2. At the end please present your results
Prototyping 9
10. Generating Solutions
• Your goal for this first step is to come up
with 10 (or more) ideas (yes, you can!). While
some of these ideas might be related to each
other, you should strive for generating a
diverse range of ideas, from simple ones to
others that do not seem feasible
Prototyping 10
11. Use the Following Constraints/Prompts
(try to generate 2-3 ideas using each constraint):
1. What are the most obvious solutions for this problem? (even
things that you know already exist)
2. What can you add, remove or modify from those initial
solutions?
3. How would a 5-year-old child solve the problem?
4. How would you solve the problem if you had an unlimited
budget?
5. How would you solve the problem without spending any
money?
6. How would you solve this problem if you had control over
the laws of nature (think invisibility, teleportation, etc.)?
Prototyping 11
12. The Final Task:
Presenting and Selecting Design Ideas
• On the base of audience feedback try to select
one final design idea which your team will
work on;
• Try to provide feedback to other teams to help
them identify the best idea
Prototyping 12
13. Report
• Report your ideas to others
• Upload your reports to Google Drive into
Design Ideas folder
• Please name the files with names of designers
