SHERWIN M. ABRIQUE
SUBMITTED TO: MRS. LORNA DIA
Hello!! My name is Sherwin Abrique and I was born on September 18 1990.
I’m second to the eldest among the five siblings of mine. Basically, I’m a
joker type of person and I alwaysgive a joke to my friends, classmates, love
one, and family. But actually,I do it because I know that they’re close to my
heart. I’m the kind of person who alwayspositive foreverything and that is
the reason why I can’t stop to achieve my desire and to accomplish my
mission and goal. I like exploring because I do believe that “experiences are
the best teacher”.
EDUCATION
I’m now still studying in Daraga Community College and I’m taking up the
bachelor of secondary education major in English. I also studied in Datamex
Institute of Computer Technology as a computer programmer but I couldn’t
finish it. I’m a holder of national certificate(NC II) whichentitled Shielded
Metal Arc Welding and I gained it when I finished my training in Don Bosco
Agro Mechanical Technology center. And for my secondary, I graduated in
Alternative Learning System (ALS) last 2008.
HOBBIES
ABOUT MY SELF
I like playing ball games such as: basket ball and volley ball. Sometimes,
when I get bored in home; I take my guitar and play it. if you could give me a
chance to rate my ability 1-10 in playing guitar; I chose 7 because I know
my ability and I’m still enhance it. Music can change my mood and it makes
me emotional and feeling relaxed but it depends to the music I play. I also
love eating but actually,it is not obvious because of my personality.
WORK EXPERIENCES
Before I entered in Daraga Community College; I worked in the callcenter
industry and I actually enjoyed the job because of the opportunity to
connectwith people and aside fromthat I enhanced my communication
skills fordaily conversations to the American people. I also worked in Albay
1st engineering district (DPWH) and it served to me as an stepping stone for
me to become aware in working to the government and played the role as a
public servant.
This project would not have been possible withoutthe guidance and the help of several
individuals whoin one way or another contributed and extended their valuable assistance in the
preparation and completion of this portfolio.
First and foremost, my utmost appreciation to Mrs. Lorna Dia, Professor in Principles of Teaching
II whogave me the golden opportunity to do this wonderfulproject and forher professional
guidance and valuable support, in whichit is very useful in the days to come.
I also would like to thanks to my classmates fortheir help in building ideas and we made the
elaboration of many peer reviews to help each other on different aspects such as: content,
reflection, documentation and many other things that wediscussed in class.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This portfolio shows all the lessons and topics that we discussed in Principles of
Teaching II under the supervision of Mrs. Lorna Dia. I also include the
summarizes of every topic and my reflectionswhich show my learning
progression in every topic that we discussed in class.
I truly enjoyed to make this portfoliobecause of the opportunity to enhance my
knowledge as wellas my learning’s in this subject. I love designing and Ithink
that is the reason why I made it more attractive and good-looking.

REFLECTION
As a future teacher, I
could say that it is a very
important topic. you
should alwayshave a
learning goals to your
students.

able to know where youwill go. This topic reported by Mr. Joan Anonuevo
last November 18, 2015.
SCOPE AND SEQUENCE OF THE
LANGUAGE SUBJECTS
As a teacher, you should know the scope and sequence of your subject area because the course descriptions
and goals or expectations of yoursubjects willbecome more concretebecause of the details. As yougo over
each scope and sequence, youshould have an ideas on materials you willbe needing, teaching strategies and

rethinking of how
teachers should
approach subjects and
topics. It discussed by
Mr. Edwin Solano.
REFLECTION
LESSON I
LEARNING STYLES
LESSON II
This will be one of the most important topic forme to learn the learning styles of my students. As a future
teacher, we should know the learning styles of our students for us to determine their strength and

This lesson shows of how the lesson developed. It is important forme to know as a future teacher and It
can help to me to design my own lesson and choose the most appropriate instructional tools for the
betterment of lesson and to make it more interesting. This topic reported by Ms. Judy ann Ardales.

MODELS OF INTEGRATION AND SAMPLE OF LESSON PLAN
LESSONII
From this topic, I learned how to make a lesson plan and how to use the thematic model of instruction in
whichthe subject matter is integrated to the other subject areas. I can teach it to my students someday
wherein they’re not only learned fromthe subject matter but also to the other subjects which integrated
to the topic.
This topic discussed by Ms. May Ann Aseboque last December 7, 2015.
REFLECTION
SAMPLE LESSON PLAN IN CONTENT-BASED INTEGRATION FILIPINO
LESSONIII
EvenI’m taking up English subject. It is
also important for me to know of how
the subject Filipino integrated to the
other subject such as: Sibika at Kultura,
Heograpiya at kasaysayan. It serves as an
example of how you made a lesson plan
using the content-based model of
instruction. It discussed by Jessica
Bahillo last December 7, 2015.
REFLECTION

your topic in literature wherein the students develop
their values by giving an activity related to values.
This topic discussed by Mrs. Medelyn Madronio.

whenever I assign as a science teacher someday. This topic reported by Ms. Jennifer Nocos last February 1 2016.
REFLECTION
THE CONTENT OF SCIENCE
The content standards presented
in this chapteroutline what
students shouldknow,
understand, andbe able to do in
natural science.The content
standards are a complete set of
outcomes for students; they do
not prescribe a curriculum.
Rationale
The eight categories ofcontentstandards are
Unifying concepts andprocesses in science.
 Science as inquiry.
 Physical science.
 Life science.
 Earth and spacescience.
 Science andtechnology.
 Science in personaland social perspectives.
 History and natureofscience.
Unifying Concepts andProcesses Standard
 Systems, order,and organization.
 Evidence,models,and explanation.
 Change, constancy, and
measurement.
 Evolution and equilibrium.
 Form and function.
This topic explained the the content of
science. The rationale and unifying
concepts justified of what are the content
of science subject. It gives me a lot of
information of how to teach a science
subject which can help me someday for
teaching methods and strategy. This
topic discussed by Ms. Sarah Jane
Padilla last January 20, 2016.
REFLECTION
THE SCIENCE PROCESSES

also justified of how to develop the skills of your students. From this
topic, I learned the process of science subject which is almost the same
in teaching English subject and the only difference, experimentation is
included in science subject while in English is literature. This topic
discussed by Ms. Carla Rodrigueza last January 25, 2016.
