My name is Wenceslao Lacaze and I’ve been working as a SAP basis
Administrator and Solution Manager Consultant for the last 8 years.
I’m a Techno-Functional SAP Solution Manager Subject Matter Expert (SME), I
Design, Build and Implement the product using “Run Sap” Methodology.
I have developed a very extended experience with medium and large scaled
SAP installations in several (multi)national environments.
I am based in Argentina, but work all around the World.

Create the Project
Solar Project Admin
To create the project and run the transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.
You need to select the Project Name, Type of Project
and the solution if you have.

The General Information releated to the Project is:
• Title : Description of the Project
• Projet Management : Person Responsible for Customer and Consultant side and wo lead the
project.
• Project Lenguage and Description.
• Status of the Project: All the Dates, Solution Manager calculate Remaining day automaticly.
In the Project Mamagement Details you need to identify the users and the OSS Usernames,
Scope:
In the Scope you need to identify the scope of the project, you have diferent options.

Template Selection:
In the Template Selection you can select the template from SAP or you can create your own
template.
Roadmap Select Tab
In the Roadmap you need to Select the correct Roadmap Flavour of your project, you can create
your own roadmap or download the new version from Sap Marketplace.

Industry Selection Tab:
In Industry you select the right industry of your implementation, you can leave the project to take
all the industries, this is used during the blueprint phase.
Country Selection:
In Country selection you need to select the country of the project
Project Team Member Tab:
In the Project Team Member you need to identify the Project Members and the Partner of the
implemetaion.
In the Project Member you need to put the roles in the project too.

In the Partner you select wich kind of partner and in wich phase of the project work (Before
golive,After Golive), and the Customer username in Sap Marketplace.
System Landscape:
In the System Landscape Tab you put all the information releated to the Landscape and Changes in
the Projects.

Systems Tab:
you select the Logical Component created for this project. Is important to select the rigth role of
the System/Client.
Central Objects Tab:
You force the repository of the Test Cases.
IMG Projects Tab:
You Identify the IMG Projects in the Satellite Systems, the red indicator if becouse the IMG don’t
have a View created. You can Create views with the Create Button.

Change Request Tab:
In the Change Request Tab you can Activate and monitoring the Change request management.
Milestones tab:
In the Milestones Tab you need to put all the Dates of the milestones in the project.That is
important for the advance reporting.
Organizational Units:
In the Organizational Units you need to identify all the OU affected for the project.
Project Standards
In the Project Standards you put all the implementation standards of you company like:

In the Status Value you can insert Staus values personlized like SignOff, Review for the Client, Etc..

You use the Keyword for identify better all the documents load in the SM.

In the Documentation Type Tab you load all the template documents for this project.

Tabs Tab
In the Tabs you select wich tab you want to see in the diferent step of the project
Roadmap.
The radmap is the tools who give as all the ASAP Metodology for the project, you can create your
own Roadmap or use the Standart roadmaps who came with SAP.
To use the roadmap you use the transaction RMMAIN
In the Roadmap you have the roadmap Structure, this are all the step for use ASAP Metodology
during the implementation of the Project.
In every single step you have information and you can used for change the status of the step.

In the Accelerator tab you have information proposted by SAP for facilitate your work.
Reference Tab:
Here you have links if this step is releated to another step in the roadmap
Status/Notices Tab:
In this tab you can put some coments releated to the Status of this step.
Project Team Member Tab:
In the Project Team Member you assign this step to the Project member.You can only use the
Members Definened in the Project Creation Phase.
Issues/Messages Tab:
Here you can create Message or Issue releated to this step in the roadmap.

Here you put the documentation of this Single Step.
Keywords Tab:
In the Keywords Tab you select the Keywords created during the Creation project phase.
Blueprint Phase
During the Blueprint Phase you need to identify all the process of the company and map inside
Solution Manager.
For do that you use the transaction SOLAR01.
In solar01 you identify:
• Organizational Units
• Master Data
• Business Scenarios.

You Start to search inside the different Organizational Areas Process Valid From.
The predefined process from sap maybe are in different sap Versions.

You change the source to Solutions or Project and you can see all the process defined before to

Business Scenarios
In the Business Scenarios you need to map the Full Process in to the different Business Process
and Process Step. One Business Scenarios is compose for different Business Process, and have his
own OU and Master Data.
Every business process has several process step.

In the Structure tab you identify all the Steps required to do the Business Process.
General Documentation Tab:
General documentation have papers from Sap or from the template for this Business Process.
Project Documentation Tab:
In Project Documentation you insert the documentation of the project for this Business Process

Graphic Tab:
In the Graphic you create a graphical definition of the Business Process, you have the logical
component, the OU and all the process step defined in the Business Scenario.
End User Roles Tab:
Here you map the business scenario with the User, Organization Units or jobs created before.
Configuration Phase
During the configuration phase, you need to map all the configuration, test and training activates
identified to the Solution Manager.
The tabs are similar, you have 4 new tab:

Training Material.

In the configuration tab you need to identify all the task related to setup the environment for this
Business Process like IMG Activities,BcSets,eCATT Configuration,programs,etc, Status and Person
responsible.
Development Tab:
If you make development you need to identify and document in this tab all the information related
like:

• Program.
