Scotland has never had so much attention from the world,
but as the most important and closest referendum in British
history comes to a head, Scotland may have to get used to
being recognised in its own light.

3. Scottish History
Scottish history dates back to the arrival of the
Roman Empire in the 1st century AD where the
first written records can be found.
Conflicts with England were constant for
centuries, but the “Auld Alliance” with France
added continental spice to Scottish culture in the
shape of Mary, Queen of Scots, who was the
daughter of a French mother.

4. Scottish Climate
Scotland’s climate tends to be very changeable. It has much
milder winters than areas on similar latitudes, such as
southern Scandinavia and Moscow, but its summers tend to
be cooler and wetter.
Western Scotland is usually warmer than the east because of
Atlantic Ocean currents and the colder surface temperatures
of the North Sea.
