From the creation the moral law was an essential part of God’s divine plan, and was as unchangeable as Himself. The ceremonial law was to answer a particular purpose in Christ’s plan for the salvation of the race

he expounded unto
them in all the

them, Verily, verily, I say

but my Father giveth you the

Lord, evermore give us this

The Ceremonial
System is done
away through the
death of Jesus
Christ:
17. “For we are his workmanship, created
in Christ Jesus unto good works, which
God hath before ordained that we
should walk in them.
[11] Wherefore remember, that ye being
in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who
are called Uncircumcision by that
which is called the Circumcision in the
flesh made by hands;

Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers
from the covenants of promise, having
18. [13] But now in Christ Jesus ye
who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[14] For he is our peace, who hath
made both one, and hath broken
down the middle wall of partition
between us;
[15] Having abolished in his flesh
the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in
ordinances; for to make in himself
of twain one new man, so making
peace;

reconcile both unto God in
one body by the cross, having
slain the enmity thereby:
[17] And came and preached
peace to you which were afar
off, and to them that were
nigh.

strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of
the household of God;

of the apostles and prophets, Jesus
Christ himself being the chief corner
stone;
[21] In whom all the building fitly
framed together groweth unto an holy
temple in the Lord:
[22] In whom ye also are builded
together for an habitation of God
21. Heb.7:24-28
“But this man, because he
continueth ever, hath an

God by him, seeing he ever
liveth to make intercession

22. [26] For such an high priest became us,
who is holy, harmless, undefiled,
separate from sinners, and made
higher than the heavens;
[27] Who needeth not daily, as those
high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first
for his own sins, and then for the
people's: for this he did once, when he
offered up himself.
[28] For the law maketh men high
priests which have infirmity; but the

law, maketh the Son, who is

he hath consecrated for us,

Jesus left the
Church only one
Ceremony to
practice, and this
represented his
death and
resurrection:
32. Jn.13:3-5
“Jesus knowing that the Father had
given all things into his hands, and
that he was come from God, and
went to God;
[4] He riseth from supper, and laid
aside his garments; and took a
towel, and girded himself.
[5] After that he poureth water into
a bason, and began to wash the
disciples' feet, and to wipe them
with the towel wherewith he was
girded.”
33.
34. Jn.13:13-15
“Ye call me Master and Lord:
and ye say well; for so I am.
[14] If I then, your Lord and
Master, have washed your
feet; ye also ought to wash
one another's feet.
[15] For I have given you an
example, that ye should do as
I have done to you.
35. ”And as they were eating, Jesus took
bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and
gave it to the disciples, and said, Take,
eat; this is my body.
[27] And he took the cup, and gave
thanks, and gave it to them, saying,
Drink ye all of it;
[28] For this is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many for
the remission of sins.
[29] But I say unto you, I will not drink
henceforth of this fruit of the vine,
until that day when I drink it new with
36. Jn.18:37

37. 1Cor.11:23-26
“For I have received of the Lord that which
also I delivered unto you, That the Lord
Jesus the same night in which he was
betrayed took bread:
[24] And when he had given thanks, he brake
it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which
is broken for you: this do in remembrance of
me.
[25] After the same manner also he took the
cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup
is the new testament in my blood: this do ye,
as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
[26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and
drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death
till he come.
38. 1Cor.11:28,31,32
“[28] But let a man examine
himself, and so let him eat of
that bread, and drink of that
cup…..
[31] For if we would judge
ourselves, we should not be
judged.
[32] But when we are judged,
we are chastened of the Lord,
that we should not be
39. “Many try to blend these two systems,
using the texts that speak of the
ceremonial law to prove that the moral law
has been abolished, but this is a perversion
of the Scriptures. The ceremonial system
was made up of symbols pointing to Christ,
to His sacrifice and priesthood. This ritual
law with its sacrifices and ordinances was
to be performed by the Hebrews until type
met antitype in the death of Christ. Then all
the sacrificial offerings were to cease. It is
this law that Christ “took ... out of the way,
nailing it to His cross.” Colossians 2:14
