This document discusses challenges and prospects for software modernization and migration. It summarizes four key success factors for software modernization projects: 1) Having one common format or language to represent all models and transformations, 2) Supporting different views of the system tailored for different stakeholders, 3) Treating non-functional properties as first-class concerns, and 4) Viewing migration as a systematic process rather than a one-time task.
