news
streams
:news
collabora%vely
constructed
out
of
subjec%ve
experience,
opinion,
and
emo%on
all
sustained
by
and
sustaining
ambient
news
environments.
We
may
understand
affec%ve
news
as
the
product
of
hybrid
news
values
and
ambient,
always-­‐on
news
environments.
Affec%ve
news
streams
blend
fact,
opinion,
and
sen%ment
to
the
point
where
discerning
one
from
the
other
is
difficult,
and
doing
so
misses
the
point.
Characterized
by
premedia%on,
affec%ve
news
streams
may
be
filled
with
an%cipatory
gestures
that
are
not
predic%ve
of
the
future,
but
communicate
a
predisposi%on
to
frame
it,
and
in
doing
so,
lay
claim
to
latent
forms
of
agency
that
are
also
affec%ve
and
networked.

publics
