I have over 25 years of experience with product documentation at IBM, spanning the evolution of GML, SGML, and XML-based markup languages and applications. I have enjoyed stints as IBM's primary representative for the W3C XSL and CSS working groups. I led the IBM workgroup that developed and eventually contributed the DITA XML specification as an OASIS standard. I ponder occasionally about the future of DITA and its communities of use.
